It is critical in the times we are living in to recognize our seasons and what God is doing at the time/moment in our history. As we build our lives around making room for Him, allowing our disciplines to create opportunity and place proper value to what is important to us, we will be equipped to take hold of His truths and bring them into our reality. We must start by asking, do we truly understand the season we are in and what we should be doing in response? There are strategies to be acquired that will continually propel us into the next victory as the Word says, from glory to glory, empowering us to fully capitalize on all the potential that each season of life holds. But, with every strategy there are tactics to be learned. The way we think is directly attached to the way we act therefore, we cannot limit our thought process to only what we know. For us to Live in the proper season with full authority to carry out the purposes of that season, we will need to rely on the Holy Spirit leading our thoughts thus actions. These strategies and tactics for knowing the times and seasons and what is possible for us to accomplish in each season will require us to continually be asking God questions, thinking critically and pressing into the presence of God where He can reveal to us the many treasures of wisdom, insight, understanding and creativity that He alone can offer. There are no limits to the possibilities of a life lived fully embracing what God is doing and equipping us to do in each moment in time. A life fully lived is a life that is in the right place at the right time to see the fullness of what God is doing at that time.
As another year has come to a close, I ponder over the events of the past year and realize so much still feels undone. How did another year pass by? So, what do I do with all these mixed emotions? I have many great memories of time shared with friends and family, it has been a year full of testimonies of the goodness of God, of break through and change in many of the lives of the people closest to me. I have gained so much from new relationships and new found friends. However, in my own life, I feel I have fallen short of what was possible. I think of the things I’ve put off, put on the back shelf or just thought maybe tomorrow. There are also things that have been out of my control, which I had hoped for in this past year that unfortunately, have not yet come to pass. As I count my blessings this year what do I do with the disappointments as to avoid carrying them into the next year allowing them to contaminate my hopes for 2015? I think on ways I can improve, I make a list of what is too important to put off any longer, I prioritize my list of resolutions and I again meditate on what my hopes and dreams are. Then I determine to silence the nagging voice in my head that says, “You tried all of this before”. Ultimately, I have to place every disappointment, every unrealized dream, and every unfulfilled promise at the feet of Jesus. II must repent for the times I dropped the ball, let discouragement take root or listened to what the enemy said about me or my situation instead of what God was saying through His word or the voice of someone who cared for me. Now, that I have repented of anything that would hold me back, I ask the Lord to wash over me and cleanse me from any residue of past failures and to renew a right spirit within me so that I can fully commit 2015 to God and trust that He is in control and will direct my steps.
I say, “Lord have Your way in me this year. Guide me into Your will, Your truth, Your way and teach me what I need to know to fulfil all that you have created me for. Lord, empower me to live a life of love, hope, and faith this year as I encourage others in the same.”
Will you join me in releasing the burdens of last year and taking hold of an exciting new year? Will you be willing to risk stepping into the unknown to take hold of something greater than experienced before? For His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness. I know as we press on we will obtain all that we have dreamed of.
“This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!” Lamentation 3: 21-24
Your thoughts of self can set the atmosphere around you causing others to see you in the same light. So how you see yourself can affect the atmosphere positively or negatively and in turn this effects how people treat and respond to you. So, if you do not like how others treat you, maybe, you need to take a look out how you view yourself. Positive self-image is just aligning how you view yourself with how God views you. And how does He view you? As a son/daughter worth giving His only son for. He thought you worthy of the life of Jesus and He sees you worthy of His love, favor and blessing. So, any thoughts of self that do not line up with this truth need to be taken captive and lined up with the truth of God’s Word. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, He has a plan to prosper you and give you a bright future, and He loves you with an everlasting love. There are many more truths in God’s Word that describe His thoughts toward you. Take hold of His truths as your truth about self and begin to positively affect the atmosphere all around you bringing others to the truth of who God is and how He sees them. I promise you, taking hold of His view of you will transform every area of your life….. bringing life.
See scriptures: Psalm 139:14; Jeremiah 29:11; John 3:16; Romans 8:31,39; 2 Thessalonians 2:16; 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 for your encouragement.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Ephesians 6:14-16
Within these verses God has given us the recipe for overcoming the mountainous situations that we will often face within our lives.
First of all, we must be committed to walk in the truth of God’s Word no matter what. This may require us to examine ourselves and to ask God to reveal any lies or untruths we are currently believing about our situation or ourselves. In our heart we must desire to believe only the truth and therefore speak only the truth.
Secondly, we must cover our hearts against the devices of the enemy. During difficult and challenging times we need to guard against emotional upheavals that harden our hearts and/or that allow hurt, fear, or disappointment to enter in and take up residence.
Thirdly, make sure you have the right shoes on to trample the enemy under your feet. We must know the Word of God for it is quick, and powerful. “For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you.” … (Isaiah 55:12). As we stay and walk in peace, trusting in our Heavenly Father, rejoicing in all things, even the mountains will sing!
Above all, Believe! Trust! Stand! Do as God instructs you to do through His word or by the leading of His Holy Spirit. Then you will be enabled to quench every fiery dart of the wicked one that is trying to keep you from crossing over your mountain.
Heavenly Father help us to apply the armor of God and its full implementation that we may be equipped to conquer every mountain that sets itself before us.
